Heart II

The seriousness presented by the black and white illustration of a heart balloon contrasts with the celebration and joy that balloons represent. This plays on the notion that the joy and celebration often associated with love can fade over time or can lead to heartache and pain. This also plays on the fact that shadows (dark times) and light are not mutually exclusive. The different variations of the heart balloon symbolise that we all have a different story of once-celebrated moments and feelings of joy, now turned into black-and-white memories.
